New fellows in May 2013

Two new fellows joined the TANGO network in May and are offered a warm welcome. They are:

Alessandra Bigongiari from Italy, who will work with Maria Heckl (Keele University, UK) on “Consolidation of experimental, analytical and numerical results for laminar and turbulent combustor” (task 2.5)

Wei Na from China, who will work with Gunilla Efraimsson (KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm) on “Numerical study of laminar dump combustor and its cold-flow equivalent” (task 1.2)

2nd Project Meeting and Workshop

The project meeting will be held at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai on 3 and 4 February 2014. It will be followed by the workshop on “Experimental methods in thermoacoustics” from 5 to 7 February 2014.

New fellow in March 2013

We offer a warm welcome to Dmytro Iurashev from Ukraine. Dmytro will work with Federico Dacca (Ansaldo) and Alex Bottaro (University of Genova) on “Numerical and analytical study of industrial gas turbine” (task 3.7).

New fellows in February 2013

Four new fellows joined the TANGO network on 1 February and are offered a warm welcome. They are:

Luck Peerlings from the Netherlands, who will work with Hans Bodén and Susann Boij (KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm) on “Experimental and analytical study of a cold-flow combustor with virtual flame” (task 1.1)

Driek Rouwenhorst from the Netherlands, who will work with Jakob Hermann (Ingenieurbüro für Thermo-Akustik GmbH, Munich) on “Development of instability warning system” (task 3.1)

Muttalip Temiz from Turkey, who will work with Ines Lopez Arteaga (Technical University of Eindhoven) “Study of passive control by micro-perforated plates” (task 3.2)

Jonathan Tournadre from France, who will work with Paula Martinez (Siemens PLM Software) “Numerical study of perforated plates with grazing and bias flow” (task 1.3)

New fellow in November 2012

We offer a warm welcome to Lin Strobio Chen from Italy, who is the first fellow to join the TANGO network and started on 1 November 2012. Lin will work with Wolfgang Polifke at the Technical University of Munich on “Study of a thermo-acoustic system with heat exchanger in cross-flow” (task 3.4).

The project meeting will be held at the Technical University of Munich on 17 and 18 June 2013. TANGO Network – Kick-off meeting

The TANGO Network Kick-off meeting will be held at Keele University on 20 and 21 November 2012.

The TANGO Network kick-off meeting will take place in Room 2.01 in the Department of Mathematics, Keele University, Staffordshire. ST5 5BG. The meeting starts at 12pm on Tuesday 20th November 2012, with a meal at David’s Brasserie in Trentham in the evening. The second day, Wednesday 21st November 2012, begins at 9am and finishes at 1pm
