Technische Universtität München (TUM) is one of the leading universities in Germany – indeed, it was one of the first “Universities of Excellence” – with outstanding performance in research, education and talent promotion. TUM educates approximately 25,000 students in more than 100 study programs, organized across a dozen facuties. The Lehrstuhl and Fachgebiet für Thermodynamik is a research unit in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with two professors, two senior scientists, approx. 50 research assistants / doctoral candidates plus 15 non-academic staff members. The research activities of the group cover the field of thermo-fluiddynamics, e.g. transport processes, reacting flows, flow instabilities, aero- and thermo-acoustics, combustion instabilities and noise.
