Indian Institute of Technology Madras

IIT Madras is located on a lush green campus in the city of Chennai (formerly Madras) with a turnover in excess of €80 million, a total staff of about 1200 and some 9800 students (including postgrads). Prof. R.I. Sujith of the Combustion & Propulsion Group within the Aerospace Engineering Department is participating in the POLKA project. The department combines traditional academic research with industrial consultancy. Research topics include combustion and combustion instabilities, optical flow and combustion diagnostics, acoustics. There are 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 1 assistant professor, 1 post-doctoral fellow, 30 PhD students and 20 MS (Masters of Science through research) students.
