Symposium on Thermoacoustics in Combustion: Industry meets Academia
ETH Zurich, Zürich, Switzerland, 11 – 14 September 2023
This symposium will bring together industrial and academic researchers studying thermoacoustic oscillations in gas turbines, rocket engines, boilers, and heating systems. There will be themed sessions on physical mechanisms, transverse modes, flame response, stability analysis, machine learning, etc. In addition, invited speakers from both industry and academia will present their specific views on key topics of current thermoacoustic research. Selected papers presented at the symposium will be published in a special issue of the International Journal of Spray and Combustion Dynamics after peer review.Extended abstracts can be submitted from 16 January until 28 April 2023

International Congress on Sound and Vibration 2023 (ICSV29)

The ICSV is a leading annual event in the area of acoustics and vibration and provides an important opportunity for scientists and engineers to share their latest research results and exchange ideas on theories, technologies and applications in these fields. As in previous years, the ICSV27 will feature a broad range of technical papers from across the world. The Theme Area "T03 Aeroacoustics, thermoacoustics, combustion noise, aircraft noise, and vibration", organised by Professors Maria Heckl and Ricardo Musafir, will comprise several sessions on thermoacoustics and aeroacoustics, including a special session showcasing the research in POLKA. Gas Turbines and Operation of Gas Turbines 2023
Koblenz, Germany, 6 - 7 June 2023
This conference, which is organised by the VGBE (association of energy plant operators), focuses on the urgent need for energy transition from fossil fuel combustion to CO2-neutral energy production. New gas turbine engineering concepts, e.g. hydrogen technologies, will be the main topics. The conference languages are German and English; simultaneous translation is intended. Meetings of the Acoustical Society of America in 2023
The Society holds two meetings each year, most of which are held at various locations in the USA and Canada. At each meeting, invited and contributed papers and poster presentations usually number between 800 and 1100, and they reflect the diversity and interests of the membership. Tutorials, lectures, technical and standards committee meetings, and visits to university, government, and industrial laboratories are regular features, along with receptions and a variety of social programs. These meetings offer opportunities for students and young researchers as well as experienced acousticians to share information.
